Zhang Zhiyang was invited to participate in the international Design Creativity Competition of "Wuyi Mountain National Park No. 1 Scenic Path"
"Wuyi Mountain National Park No. 1 Scenic Way" International Design Creativity Competition focuses on Wuyi Mountain as a world-class tourist destination and the goal of Fujian meeting room, showing the world the unparalleled natural and human beauty of Wuyi Mountain National Park, driven by creativity and innovation. International soliciting of architectural design and planning improvement proposals for the first 14 quality nodes along the No. 1 Scenic Way of the National Park.
The competition aims to promote the appreciation of natural and cultural resources assets in the protection and development zone of the Wuyi Mountain National Park, systematically enhance the value of ecological products, promote the construction of ecological civilization, create world-class scenic byways and beautiful villages, and build the Great Wuyi tourism circle. The event was sponsored by Nanping Municipal People's Government, and co-organized by Nanping Municipal People's Government, Nanping Municipal Party Committee Publicity Department, Nanping Municipal Natural Resources Bureau, Nanping Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, Jianyang District People's Government, Wuyishan Municipal People's Government, Wuyi New District Management Committee and Fujian Wuyi Tourism Group Co., LTD. On October 18-19, 2023, Wuyishan National Park No.1 Scenic Path International Creative Design Competition will be held in Wuyishan City.
The scheme review committee is composed of 7 well-known experts in the industry and 2 representatives of the owner. Li Xiaojiang was selected as the review team leader by the members of the review committee. Zhang Zhiyang was honored to be invited to become a member of the program evaluation committee.

Zhang Zhiyang:
"As a national nature conservation park, the primary task of Wuyi Mountain is definitely to protect nature." The design team needed to consider the material's renewability and symbiosis with nature, as well as its minimal impact on the ecological environment.Personally, I don't think we should be too conservative and just make repetitive proposals. Through the preliminary screening of the entries, we saw many surprising design ideas - using bamboo as the main building material, or contemporary art installation as a natural response.In general, I think the focus of good design should be on the following issues: One is that we must find the specific problem of each site and solve this problem; Second, we need to avoid creating unnecessary trouble because of the "network celebrity effect" and "performance" of the pursuit of the program; In addition, when we choose materials and construction methods, we need to take into account the subsequent environmental protection and durability. The final plus is the artistry of the project."
