SELF ASSEMBLY CITYShenZhen Guangming Science City (First Prize in International Competition) 2019

"Self-assembly" is our core concept for the organization and development of Guangming Science City. "Self-assembly" is a scientific term. Self-assembly City refers to the integration of nature and the elements of the city, which not only correspons to the connotation of the science city, but also describes the characteristics of the design appropriately. Therefore, instead of imposing a spatial structure on the city, we propose an organic development principle based on transportation and ecology for the Science City, where the city and nature will be intertwined. Under the guidance of this framework system, our goal is to determine and design the city, green space and traffic interchanges. This is where the city node is located, and the Self-assembly City organizes and develops around the node. We have identified 5 nodes as activator, which can promote the assembling of cities. Each node carries different themes and roles in Science City.
