We believe that landmarks are more than just unconventional forms. They should also bring humanistic care to the respect of regional culture and place spirit, convey ecological protection, build pleasant places, so that the simple and original place spirit and life can be inherited and realize a butterfly change. The project is located in Dapeng Bay, which is rich in marine natural and cultural resources. With its unique geographical advantages, it breeds a fisher-style landscape with a unique form and full of modern aesthetics. Let us wonder what is the reason for such a wonderful landscape?

Through our research on the historical changes of the local fishing grid, we found that the seemingly simple and direct pattern of fish farming carries an extremely rich life course behind it, which is the evidence and heritage of the soul of this place.After careful thinking and research, we propose to preserve the plane texture of the fishing grid, and build a unique wetland landscape step by step from the vertical to the sea level. After the ebb and flow, the natural ecology is restored, providing an ideal habitat for mangroves and rare birds.

The various venues of the Aquarium grow out of the plot enclosed by the fishing grid, transforming the fishing grid network into passages and public spaces inside and outside the museum, which can not only continue the site texture of the fishing grid, but also naturally build a "settlement-style” museum allows the external courtyards, streets and wetland landscapes to be intertwined with museum functions, resulting in a more flexible and inclusive museum in terms of functional operations.

Through our research on the results of public questionnaires, visitors and citizens have a strong demand for entertainment, parent-child education, and ecological protection. Then we divide the needs of three different groups of people into three circle spaces: core area, buffer zone, and exploration area. We hope to innovate a multi-level museum space and create more humane public places.

Based on these three levels of design and arrangement, the Oceanographic Museum will build itself into an international professional museum with rich experience, It is also a "flagship" of ocean exploration anchored in Shenzhen Dapeng Bay, creating educational, parent-child, leisure and vacation facilities and places for citizens and tourists. It is also an ideal "supply base" for all enthusiasts who are keen on going up the mountains and exploring the sea
