ROCKING DOUNTSYa'an Primary School Library

The staggered stacking of several cylindrical blocks of different sizes creates an indoor space with free flow, and also produces a series of outdoor platform spaces.
The main functions of the project are the second classroom and some books reading space for the students of the school. The hall on the first floor is the Ji Xianlin Memorial Hall. The library is located between the old and new community of Ya’an Primary School. The staggered stacking of several cylindrical volumes of different sizes creates a free flowing indoor space and also produces a series of outdoor platform spaces. Different indoor and outdoor activity venues are created for students, which is in line with the active nature of primary school students. The façade is fully covered with perforated sunshade folded panels, which is not only an exterior modeling technique, but also creates a soft indoor light environment to ensure students’ concentration when reading indoors.
