The convention and exhibition center on the south side of the project is an important gateway for Shenzhen's foreign trade and exchanges. The annual number of international visitors is second only to Shenzhen Airport. The south entrance of Huangting Square faces the entrance of the Convention and Exhibition Center. Since the original façade design was too trivial and commercialized, in 2012 the government required the façade to be redesigned. We designed a complete and concise LED screen with a length of 60 meters, and added a layer of folded glass curtain wall on the outside of the screen. This layer of curtain wall weakens the light pollution caused by the LED screen to the city streets, and at the same time presents a fashionable and restrained temperament. Through the time-sharing management of the display content, the public welfare display during the exhibition and the commercial advertisement needs of other periods are met at the same time.

The project is located directly opposite the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. The Convention and Exhibition Center holds major exhibitions for more than 200 days every year. On average, more than 10 million exhibitors and visitors from all over the world visit. Therefore, the location of the project is extremely important. It can be said that it is a city card of Shenzhen, representing It reflects the aesthetic taste and humanistic temperament of Shenzhen Design Capital.

Although the original design business meets the basic functional requirements of ordinary commercial buildings, its design method is slightly trivial and messy, and the design method lacks creativity, which does not match the important location of the city.

The design of this program focuses on achieving the following goals:

1. On the one hand, it meets the elegant, noble and unique needs of commercial building facades, and on the other hand, it expresses the temperament of Shenzhen's era aesthetically, and represents the high-level aesthetic pursuit of Shenzhen's design industry.

2. On the one hand, the large-scale LED display screen must meet the overall display needs of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition during the exhibition, and on the other hand, it must also meet the flexible segmentation needs of merchants' daily commodity advertisements.

3. The façade effect should not only ensure the clear and bright display of the LED screen, but also display an elegant, chic and exquisite commercial façade effect during the day when the LED is not in use.

We added a "folded-plate" glass curtain wall in front of the LED display, and hung a lattice-type crystal ball between the curtain wall and the LED screen. In this way, the folded glass can reflect sunlight during the day, which can reduce the monotony of the LED screen on the one hand, and superimpose the images of the surrounding urban environment on the other hand. The bead curtain formed by the crystal ball can refract the light of the LED, and the bead curtain itself swings slightly under the impetus of the air flow, which will add a layer of dazzling effect to the ordinary LED screen.
